How does the leadshare work?

  • The south leadshare group meets twice monthly on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month from 8AM to 9AM. The meeting will take place at:

    Eggspectations
    5009 Westone Plaza
    Chantilly, VA 20151
    703.263.7444

The meeting format will be as follows:

    • 8AM Prompt - 10 minutes of 45-second introductions by everyone at the meeting. This should include your name, your business, a summary of what you do and specifically what a good lead is for you.
    • 8:10 - Each meeting we will choose one person to spotlight their company and highlight their goals to find commonalities with other members. This should last 20 minutes and should be an in-depth look at where you have come from, where you are and where you want to go. This is your chance to enlist the help of all members of the leadshare group in achieving your goals. Be specific and use every minute.
    • 8:30 - Meet and Greet. From 8:30 to 8:40 we will take time to catch up with everyone at the meeting and exchange leads. This would be a great time to respond to the spotlighter with specific leads and suggestions based on your own experiences. You may also take this time to schedule one-on-ones with other members and/or follow up on existing business. You should speak with at least five other members of the group during this time.
    • 8:40 - Lead Sharing. This is the time we will take to summarize the leads we have submitted. Each person will report on the leads they have shared, the leads they have received, discuss why they have specifically been good or bad for them, and also report any one-on-ones that took place since the last meeting.
    • 9:00 - The meeting is adjourned. This time after the meetings, however, is an ideal time to continue networking or to complete a one-on-one.

What are the requirements to be a member?

  • We are going to affiliate ourselves with the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce and your business should be a member of this organization. We believe strongly that a membership to this group will pay great dividends to both your business and personal life through their community outreach support and direct involvement with the day to day business activities of the Dulles corridor. You are welcome to be our guest for up to 3 meetings before becoming a member.
  • Lead generation. Each member is responsible for carrying his/her weight. Due to our industry specific limits, each person is holding a position potentially available to another committed professional. As such, you are expected to make the following commitments. If any requirement of membership conflicts with the ethical or professional obligations of any member, that requirement is hereby waived with respect to that member.
    • At least one 'qualified' lead per meeting (This requirement is waived for attorney members)
    • No more than 2 absences per calendar year. Another member of your company may attend in your place. But this also should not occur more than twice a year unless they are a listed member of the chamber.
    • At least one 'one-on-one' per month.
    • At least one member referral to the group per quarter. (This requirement is waived for attorney members).

What is a 'qualified' lead?

  • A qualified lead is a referral that contains the following attributes:

    - The lead has been told that the member will be contacting them.
    - The lead has a current need for the member's services
    - The lead is specific.
    - The lead contains written name, address, phone, email and business specifics.

  • A lead can also be your business using the services of another member.
  • A lead can also be a guest you have brought to the meeting as a potential member.

Who runs the group?

  • The Chairman of the group is to serve a one year term. At the end of that term, the outgoing Chairman will choose another member to become Chairman. The serving Chairman has final decision making authority over all issues affecting the group and can only be removed by a unanimous vote of all members while present by a showing of hands. The Chairman will maintain the website and collect and maintain all records. While dullesleadshare.com is affiliated with the Dulles Chamber, this is an independent group and all decisions will remain in the hands of the Chairman. The current Chairman is Bill Bolton, and his term will expire on the last day of 2010.
